Despite the disqualification of Jermaine Jones, the program makers decided to go ahead with an elimination this week. That was a sad decision for Shannon and her fans.
Shannon had been an early favorite, especially after her powerful rendition of Go Light Your World, but she struggled in the last couple of weeks.
She found herself in the Bottom Three, along with Elise Testone and Erika Van Pelt. Maybe Elise’s fans didn’t like her going up tempo, Erika perhaps needs to sort out what she thinks is rock, because her version of a Bryan Adams song wasn’t it?
But it was 16 year old Shannon Magrane who polled the lowest votes from the American people. She was given the chance to sing for the judges’ save, but they decided to hold onto it for future use.
As much as I liked Shannon’s bubbly personality and (mostly) agreed with her song choices, Shannon was just not meant to be the American Idol. Good luck, though, Shannon. We’ll miss you.
