American Idol 2012 Season 11: Jermaine Jones Favorite To Win

Gentle giant Jermaine Jones has leapt ahead in a bid to become American Idol 2012. Having almost missed out on a place in the live stages he is now favorite to win the competition.

And he almost didn’t make it this far, even with a second chance from the judges.

6 feet 8 inches tall Jermaine Jones was distraught when he was axed from the show just before the live semi-finals, but his return proved to be a triumphant one, with all three judges, especially Randy Jackson, praising his performance of the Luther Vandross song Dance With My Father.

But he almost didn’t get the call from producers telling him the good news that the show wanted him back.

His mother refused to answer the unrecognised number!

The boys’ category is already considered to be a close call, so Jermaine’s reappearance in the battle for the remaining places upset the applecart for the remaining few. Randy Jackson says that the baritone’s unusual bass-heavy voice is just what the show needs, for a bit of variety.

Jermaine’s comeback story has made him one of the favorites to go all the way.

The other contestants to go through from the boys’ category include Heejun Han, who impressed with his version of Robbie Williams’ Angels, Joshua Ledet, whose version of You Pulled Me Through was so good that Jennifer Lopez said she wanted to punch him and Deandre Brackensick. They face competition from Phil Phillips, Colton Dixon and Jeremy Rosado. Oh and a few girls as well.

What do you think to Jermaine Jones being the favorite to win American Idol 2012? Who do you want to see win the competition?

So much for Jermaine winning! Even if they didn’t kick him off, he was not going to win. IMO, the winner will be Phillip Phillips or Jessica Sanchez with Hollie in third place. The next one to be voted off should be Shannon.

I love the gentle giant Jermaine Jones, but if I had to pick a favorite, it would be hands down Joshua Ladette. He already has a knack for good song choice. This means he already knows his strengths and American Idol needs to produce a good soul singer. On the heels of Ladet, I would put my money on jessica Sanchez or DeAndre Brackensick. They have what it takes to sell music. Also Elise got it going on. It is a tough competition but there is a true winneer in the bunch. I hope these 4 stay around for good entertainment this season.
