American Idol’s Lauren Alaina To Switch on Graceland Christmas Lights

Christmas is a-coming and soon American Idol finalist Lauren Alaina will have the privilege of switch on the Christmas lights at Graceland this year.

The Like My Mother Does singer will get the holiday season off to a bright start at the estate of the late great Elvis Presley in Memphis, Tennessee on November 18.

The Graceland lighting ceremony is free and open to the public. It can also be viewed via webcam at

In keeping with the legendary property and its late owner, the Graceland Christmas decorations, all chosen by the King himself and his family, will be gloriously flamboyant, including a life-size Nativity scene, Santa and his sleigh, and hundreds of blue lights down the driveway.

One fan will also have the chance to attend the ceremony where Lauren Alaina turns on the lights and can win a meet-and-greet with her, as well as serve as a guest DJ on Elvis Radio on Sirius XM through and Sirius XM.

Lauren Alaina finished runner-up on the tenth season of American Idol. She recently released her debut album Wildflower, which features first single Like My Mother Does. Carrie Underwood, the former American Idol who performed with Alaina in the finale, has also written a track for the album, entitled Eighteen Inches. Lauren Alaina wrote another, called Funny Thing About Love.
