America’s Next Top Model Recap: Modelland

America’s Next Top Model all stars often looks like Tyra Banks’ own private fantasy, but at no time more so than the latest episode, Modelland. This week, Tyra had the girls film a motion editorial for her book. But who was not up to the challenge?

The girls were asked to write a blog post for the editor of Vogue Italia, which is one of the prizes if they win this cycle. This is their audition blog post and it has to talk about the scene and the fashion of Crete. They get an outfit, they chose a location, have to take photos and then they write their blog. They have three hours in which to do thid. The best one wins a trip back to Crete for two for seven days. Nice!

Lisa focuses on Crete’s hot spots, while Angelea goes more real and gritty. Allison and Laura both go to the same spot on the water.

Tyra directed the girls in a fashion video for Modelland, which begins with a bunch of running scenes, but then later Lisa plays a deranged mom who is obsessed with her baby, which is hilariously scary. Laura has to dig through garbage for a lost button, then she has to spray whipped cream in her mouth.

Allison struggled with the acting which involved a kitten and a blood orange.

Angelea got an emotional scene where she is supposed to feel unloved and unwanted by her dad, which horribly mirrored reality for her. But she managed to channel her emotions and win this task.

On the second day of the shoot, Tyson Beckford came in to help but he just seemed to send the girls crazy.

So, some of the motion editorial ends up really cool, wile other bits are just weird. But it’s the kind of weird silliness that Tyra considers to be art so everyone is happy.

At the judging panel the best picture went to Lisa. Angelea is also safe. So Allison and Laura are in the bottom two, and Laura is eliminated.

Do you agree with the judges’ decision?
