America’s Next Top Model 17: What Judges Want From The All-Stars Cycle

America’s Next Top Model judge Andre Leon Talley says that he will be looking for a connection between the returning contestants and their fans on the upcoming All-Stars cycle of the CW show.

The 17th cycle of Tyra Banks’ modelling competition will welcome back former contestants from previous cycles to compete once more for prizes including a Vogue Italia spread and the chance to be an Extra correspondent.

As the contestants are not new to the show, the judge will be expecting them to warm up to the fans when they first hit the runway. They will be watching how the models react to the crowd, the impact they have on them and the response they give back to their fans.

Talley stressed how important fans are when branding oneself as a top model.

“ Each and every person on this show has a fan base and it’s important to recognise you are no better than the person who is looking at you,” he said.

This upcoming season on America’s Top Model, fourteen former contestants from the past sixteen cycles will return. There will also be a contract with CoverGirl cosmetics and a campaign with Express among the prizes.

Tyra Banks said this season is “crazy.”

“They are all these Type-A personalities because you are getting the best of the best and they are effervescent and they pop.” Like many previous seasons, Banks was reduced to tears most episodes, but she says the tears don’t always means she is sad.

So we can expect lots of emotion and lots of surprises from this All Stars season.

America’s Next Top Model returns on Wednesday, September 17 on The CW.
