Charlie Sheen has passed blood and urine tests aimed at detecting drugs in his system, in his latest bid to prove he is clean and have production resumed on his hit TV series, “Two and a Half Men”. That’s right. You read that correctly: Charlie Sheen had his blood and urine tested at the weekend and the results came back negative for all illegal substances and for alcohol. We smell a lawsuit coming on.
Independent lab tests on Sheen, conducted on Saturday at the star’s Los Angeles luxury home, were filmed and he came out clean on all tests for illegal substances. The tests took place courtesy of Radar Online.
The negative results were returned for: amphetamines, barbiturates, benzo-diazepines, cannabis, cocaine, methadone, opiates, phencyclidine, propoxyphene and even alcohol.
“This is actually awesome, this is so bizarre, dude,” Sheen excitedly cried.
Uh…Charlie, if you’re trying to prove that you haven’t been taking drugs and that your TV company were wrong to ditch your show, “bizarre” is probably a bad word to use. Of course, you knew you’d be clean, right?
Actually, what do these drug tests prove? Substances can only be detected for a very short time, so Charlie could actually have done cocaine three days ago and still come up clean. Marijuana can be detected for a little longer, but not more than two weeks. For everything else, the drug tests prove he didn’t abuse these substances in the previous two or three days.
But even if though these tests show he’s been clean for a few days and his recent hospitalization was due to a hernia, are things really looking any brighter for Charlie Sheen? Will he get his hit TV show “Two and a Half Men” back? Will his career recover from these recent drink and drug problems?
