“Lost” Star Doug Hutchison: I Never Hid Romance with 16-year-old

Lost star Doug Hutchison has claimed that he “didn’t want to hide” his relationship with 16-year-old country singer Courtney Stodden, whom he married recently.

The actor was wed to the teenage country singer in May. Despite vowing that it was a wonderfully romantic story, he later confessed that he had struggled to cope with their 35-year age gap.

However, the Green Mile bad guy clarified to E! that he had never been “afraid” of going public with his love for Stodden. He was and is proud of their relationship.

“We had a lot of people, especially in my camp, because I’m in this profession, suggesting we keep [the relationship] under wraps for fear of the repercussions of whatever – career, perception – and I was adamant that I didn’t want to hide it,” he said.

“I believe there’s one rule in Hollywood, and that is that there are no rules. That also can apply to love, and there are no rules, so… Was I afraid [of going public]? No.”

Doug Hutchison even claimed that he had been offered more opportunities in Hollywood since his relationship with Stodden went “viral.”

“What’s kind of blown my mind about how this has all gone so global and viral is that I have had more opportunity now. I’ve been courted by producers, directors, agents, record executives… I don’t think love is a career killer.”

Even marrying a girl who is not yet legally an adult, and who is easily young enough to be your daughter? As they say, no publicity is bad publicity!
